The Youth Engineers for a Green Future program is a collaborative project designed to provide students with a series of lectures and hands-on activities surrounding green infrastructure. Throughout the program, thanks to our amazing partners, students have learned about the natural water cycle, stormwater as a resource, native plants and so much more.
With just two classes remaining in the fall series, the students have already begun to design and develop their demonstration scale biofilter models. It has truly been wonderful to realize first hand the enthusiasm amongst the students as they engage in the classroom lectures and excitedly move to the build with an increase in knowledge and a boost in self-confidence.
A program designed to engage Jefferson Middle School students in STEAM education in the afternoons? We say YES and THANK YOU!
